The Sixers paid homage to their former team name and city in the 2004-05 NBA season, when Allen Iverson suited up in the iconic colours and uniform. Originally founded in '46 as the Syracuse Nationals before relocating to Philadelphia in '64, the 76ers name pays homage to the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The Philadelphia 76ers logo features the number 76 with 13 stars arranged in a circle above the number 7 to represent the original 13 American colonies.
